This is a simple strategy that has worked before.
The idea is to plan 100 to 300 entries and publish them as a book.
It helps to have the book idea first so that each of them actually fits into a coherent product.
So you don’t get up one day and ask yourself, “what am I going to write?“ You already know what you’re going to write.
You are going to write the next chapter or segment of your book.
You release these chapters sequentially.
And all the while you are telling people that your new book will be released let’s say in August.
The idea is to do pre-marketing and also to keep people interested.
People with plans and vitality are interesting to the audience.
They will want to see what’s next.
They want to be part of it. The most important thing here is the concept of vitality.
It’s one of the emotional triggers in the book that’s available in the members area.
People want to be around vibrant situations.
Let’s get back to book blogging.
In terms of selling your book it may be something you actually sell for money or it might be a bonus that you give away to subscribers.
Again if people catch on to you while you are writing it you can say, become a paid subscriber today and get our new book in August.
Do you see the way this works?
You have content and marketing and are creating energy around yourself.
There’s also the inherent value of having your own project and organizing principle that keeps you going, keeps you productive and dare I say gives you joy.
Book blogging can be part of your overall publishing strategy. Furthermore, if you’re reading this and have already published a bunch of material you can also re-publish previous work either as a book or as a bonus.
One way to think about it is this – if only a few people have written your previous work, republishing or repackaging is not cheating. What you are doing is making your brilliance available to people who have not come across it before.
Take some time to think about sitting this concept into your strategy and as appropriate for where you are in your journey.
Until tomorrow, FG
