The other Sunday I came across a young teacher practicing his own piano pieces before he had to start his lessons.
We’re friendly so I complimented him on his discipline.
He said it wasn’t a big deal – HE LIKES PLAYING THE PIANO.
But for many young people his age, they were either sleeping one off from the night before or getting ready to tie another one.
Who practices piano at 8 in the morning? Before they have to start work?
I am sure there are others besides this guy.
And I am 100% certain the ones who practice are the ones who get to do it for a living.
And this has everything to do with owning a business. The ones who do the work, who exercise discipline, are the ones who reap the rewards.
But this message is for us – people who own businesses. You absolutely cannot talk about discipline to the general public. They lose their minds and say it’s whatever.
But the fact remains discipline is what separates achievers from those who have all those other cool stories.
Back to our young piano teacher. His key to being able to practice piano early on a Sunday is that he likes his craft.
