Hey, this is Frank publisher of Retired Writer’s Club, our secret email list that goes out every single day to business owners. Just like you who understand that profit is the only legitimate goal of business
Today’s message is how complacency kills businesses. And I’ll give you a quick example.
We just spent, I don’t know, like 500 bucks, on flowers and bushes and you know, green stuff. At Lowe’s actually.
It’s supposed to rain today. It should rain today. We’re hoping it rains today because it’s 95 degrees out, but so far it’s Noon and it hasn’t rained.
So I watered the flowers because if you don’t water the flowers when it’s 95 degrees, they die.
So yes, the $500, but you know, it’s like driving to Lowe’s, digging up the old stuff, throwing out the old stuff, getting your hands dirty. I think I still got some you know, grime under my nails.
It’s all that effort. Plus the house looks great. I mean, the house looks great, right? Julie’s got some cool planters that she bought and things are arranged nicely.
It means something to us, just like my business and your business and our businesses means something to us.
And if you’re complacent, if you think about what’s supposed to happen, what should happen, what you hope can happen, you know, what you would like to happen. It ain’t going to happen, right?
Your business is going to die just as surely just as guaranteed as those flowers will die. And quite frankly, we’ve had flowers that died, you know?
And I’m like, man, that was a hundred bucks and it’s just dead. And there’s no, you know, you can’t water it after the fact, right. Once it dead, it’s dead. So that’s how complacency kills businesses.
That’s why I send out the secret email list every day. It’s called Retired Writer’s Club click on the link below to subscribe.
