I don’t know about you but I’ve purchased about as many diet systems as I have writing programs over the years. It made sense in the beginning because I didn’t know much – about either area. I had been overweight and I had been an unpublished writer and I wanted to change both of those conditions.
But after awhile you don’t need as much help. You understand the scope of what you want to accomplish and know most of the fundamentals. When you’re ready, when you’re really ready, you know it – and maybe then you just need a couple small pointers that will guide you through the process and your own drive and work ethic and desire sees you through.
Early last year for example, I was fed up with being overweight. And the Covid thing certainly didn’t help matters, given the scary misinformation that was floating around. I decided that no matter what the truth about the superflu wound up being, losing the weight was something I had control of and getting into shape certainly wouldn’t hurt my chances if I did catch it.
So because I knew most of what I needed to know, I went and found a couple resources to fill in my knowledge. Then I just did it. Stuck to a strict diet plan and lost 46 pounds to the point where I was the healthiest I’d been in years. I definitely leaned on the principles I’d picked up but the reality is that I did most of the work. Losing weight is no picnic, hahaha.
Same thing with writing. There was a point last year when I had completed research on a monster project that took me over 2 years to compile. I was ready to write the book. I knew how to write it. But I hesitated.
I didn’t want to sit down and grind out a 700-page book the way I had done in the past. I knew it would take me a year. And since that project was really for a niche market, I thought I’d be pouring too many resources into an effort that wouldn’t pay off proportionately.
So I sat for a minute or a week and thought about it. I definitely wanted to finish but I wanted to get it in the can.
I struck on a method that was perhaps obvious in hindsight. But because it was something I hadn’t done before I did have to feel my way through it for a little bit. Then I hit a stride. Wound up finishing in about 2 months – and the final product was 250 pages long!
That might not seem like a big deal, but I was working full-time and from home with kids and family and pets causing a ruckus every day.
When the dust settled and I was done admiring my work, I thought about the process I had just gone through. It was fun, produced a good product and it was fast. I had a good time writing that book!
So as these things go, I had an idea for a new book. This one was a little short, only about 120 pages and it only took a month!
Now I was a pretty happy writer. Two books during a pandemic? While working and raising a family? Not too bad.
The method I developed doesn’t have that many moving parts. Once you get the principles and follow a couple of tips and techniques I provide you’ll be getting down to the writing of the book you’ve been meaning to write. And I bet you’ll finish it in record time.
So my writing method is a little bit like those diet tips I worked with when I made the decision to finally “lose the weight.” I knew what I wanted to do and understood the basics but just needed some pro guidance to get the thing done.
So if you’ve kicked the tires of a writing career, and maybe gone through some courses or programs, maybe you’re finally ready. You probably don’t need help stringing sentences together and know what you want to say. If that’s the case you are in for a treat. My program for getting your book written is short, about 55 minutes long, and will give you everything you need to not only get started but see the thing through to completion.
Based on my recent experience writing those 2 longer project, I also include a couple historical examples where the authors did it the same exact way. That was long before I was around so they didn’t have my help – but their stories are kind of funny in that they backed into this method pretty much the same way I did.
I think you’re going to enjoy listening to the program as well as putting it into practice. It is fun, easy and fast. You will get your book done faster that you imagined possible. And having that final printed draft in your hands is a feeling unlike any other.
So let’s get started, together. I want to help you write a book!
