This is the media’s model. They are doing what they have to do to get people’s attention. That attention turns into audience which is sold for advertising dollars.
And the media has no other tools but fear, and demoralization because they have no product to sell. So they are all problem no solution.
Second, business owners can learn from media. Yes, you should use fear and dread and all the fin stuff to get people’s attention – preferably to lead them to your solution for which they will give you money.
Third, don’t get high on your own supply. While we use fear as a tool, we shouldn’t succumb to it – and this goes for paying attention to media which is blatant in their tactics.
