Couple months back I took on an assignment I didn’t want.
They made me an offer I couldn’t refuse.
So I took it and as expected was overwhelmed.
I had to figure out how to do both tasks at the same time.
What did I do?
I played ping-pong!
With my own brain and my own creativity I bounced back and forth between tasks.
I would do what I could on one. If I got stuck or had to wait on input, I switched to the other.
And I found that I could do the work faster, and actually better, when I was forcing myself to a higher level of performance.
I got it done, grumbling the whole way.
But as they say, I did cash the checks.
Now most business owners would be grateful if they only had 2 hard things to do at the same time.
And all successes will tell you that a basket of challenges is what made them better.
It’s about wanting to win after it’s all said and done.
If you are feeling challenged with multiple demands, I get it. We’re all in that same boat.
That’s why I publish Retired Writer’s Club, our secret email list for business owners. Even if you are being whacked around like a ping-pong ball it will be there for you. You can take the 2 minutes required to read the email.
The idea will be there in your head, simmerin’, and when you have the chance to turn back to your business tasks you just might be surprised how Retired Writer’s Club helps you make the right choice or perform the right action, to get your business result.
