What do people want?
And the answer is they want something else.
It’s just the way we all are. As soon as you get the thing that you say you want, perhaps that you’ve owned for, you know, 30 seconds to 3 hours, and then you want something else.
It is the nature. I would say, not just of a consumer society, but a of humanity, right?
We always want more, but it’s not just more. It’s something else. We want something that diverts our attention.
That is a new interest, like a glittering diamond. You know, you just turn it around. There’s always another facet, right?
So as business owners, as marketers, we have to keep that in mind, they want new, they want advanced.
They want exciting. They want a twist. They want something sometimes that’s subversive or secret or revolutionary, right?
And sometimes the new thing is nostalgia, they want to go back to the way things used to be, which would be new to people who’ve been going down the wrong road.
Good example was I think something called the rules years ago. It was a dating advice thing for women that advocated an old fashioned approach. It was different from what was an established play.
Okay. So just bear in mind that not only do you have to have your core product, but you always have to be presenting it in ways that is new.
That is a twist, a trick, something exciting, something that someone else doesn’t know.
