We’ve all heard some version of the idea that when you need something the solution appears.
That’s a nice thought to have especially if you’re also working on the problem yourself.
Two days ago I realized I needed a wood repair product. The screws on the gate were getting loose and I figured I would take them out, fill them with the putty then put them back in and let it dry and it would make a serviceable repair.
I really wasn’t looking forward to driving to the hardware store but whatever.
Then yesterday one of my office neighbors was clearing out some junk. On top of the box was something called Kwik Wood. It was new in the package. I asked her if she was actually throwing that out. She said yes. I said do you mind if I take that I actually need it. She said sure.
Took me about seven minutes to do the repair.
I was as pleased with my work as I was with the unusual coincidence.
It is true that we often get what we need when we need it.
And I think it’s more true that we get what we need when we are actively working toward a solution.
If you want to improve your business writing skills and have done as much as you can I have what you need.
It’s called Retired Writers Club. A daily email that goes out to our secret list that helps people take the next step and figure out what needs to happen.
PS: I will admit to a little superstition here. When you are searching for a solution and somehow come across it I feel it is important that you honor your intention by actually using the solution. As I did with the Kwik Wood. And this morning I actually found something else that I was looking for that I thought would really really make a difference. Often when we are searching hard for something and find it we relax a bit. We are satiated. But if you wanted it so badly I think you should use it. I am giving this advice because it is true and also because I need to remind myself of it!
