One day I looked at our youngest and thought, “he needs $10 million to lead a middle class life.”
Maybe that’s a little drastic. I was thinking about lifetime compensation.
Point remains we all need more money than we think we do.
Last week we realized the bed was shot and causing back pain.
Boom! $529 for a mattress.
Then we realized Caleb needed a new bed as well.
It got so bad I told Julie, “I’m not using my credit card the rest of the week. Smoke is coming off it.”
So I went to cash for a couple days. And the green was flowing! Out of my wallet and into the world.
To get a handle on how much money you actually spend, go all cash for a week.
Make it so you have to pull paper money out of your wallet for every little thing you used to put on your card.
It will make real how much you spend. Might also tone down the outflow a bit.
But the most important thing it will do is make it clear to you that you have to make more money.
Economy only goes so far. And it is crowded and smelly.
